Marian Gaborik made an appearance at the New York Rangers' MSG Training Center in Westchester, N.Y. and skated around with teammates.

The team confirmed he's been progressing well since a June 6 surgery on his right shoulder.

Gaborik led the Rangers during the 2011-12 regular season with 41 goals and 76 points, then sustained a torn labrum in Game 3 of the first round of the playoffs against the Senators. The 30-year-old Slovakian played with the injury, all the way until the Rangers were eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Devils.

While Gaborik is limited in what he can do on the ice, he wants to keep his conditioning strong.

"I am trying to build up my conditioning, and am trying to keep strengthening my shoulder, that's the biggest part to get power and strength back," noted Gaborik. "It is progressing as planned, so I am happy."

He performed some light stick handling on the ice, and joked he was able to shoot some "muffins." He's just happy that his shoulder is feeling better.

Gaborik isn't ahead of schedule, so expect him ready for a return to competition by November. With the likelihood of a lockout, there is a chance he won't miss any meaningful games for the Blueshirts.
