The New York Rangers have more speculation in the media these days than facts, and another one coming out today was that involves star winger Marian Gaborik.
Gaborik was benched for the third period in last night's 3-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, and that has some people suggesting that Gaboirk could be on his way out of New York.
That's a crazy assumption, however.
Do people actually think Gaborik is being traded? Like I said last week, this team can't score now, how does trading Gaborik help?

Yes, Gaborik was benched last night — in a very questionable move by head coach John Tortorella as he's one of the only Rangers who can put the puck in the net. He was pulled right after he received a hooking penalty that led to Montreal extending their lead to 3-0.
Gaborik will normally hint when he is frustrated or upset, but after being benched, he was calm and just disappointed with the team's loss. Here's his reasoning about why Tortorella benched him.
“I guess it was because of that penalty and I didn’t get the puck out before that,” Gaborik said.
Admittedly, his penalty was a lazy hook after a defensive error; it’s just strange to see a coach bench his top scorer (seven goals) with his team trailing, 3-0.
This team has scored three goals in its past three games (0-1-2) so it's no secret this team, once again, can't find the back of the net. Its best scorer won't be going anywhere.
