Dan Girardi practiced today for the New York Rangers, days after taking a P.K. Subban slap shot of his right ankle.

Many believed the shot would cost Girardi some time as it was believed the ankle was broken. The X-Rays came back negative, however, and Girardi was happily back at work with just some soreness.

Girardi said he was relieved to know there was no structural damage to his ankle.

Now the all important question: Will he play tomorrow against the Winnipeg Jets?

If the practice shifts today were any indication, then yes, Girardi will suit up to play. The team is already without Ryan McDonagh on the back end, who wasn't even at practice today after the hit he received from Max Pacioretty.

If he can't go, Stu Bickel will be the sixth defenseman, but he lined up as a forward in today's practice.

The good news for the Rangers is that Girardi was skating around. He is known to play through pain, so don't be surprised if he's on the ice tomorrow. If he isn't, expect him back very, very soon.
