It was the first time McDonagh was on the ice since being hit from behind by Max Pacioretty Saturday when the team played the Montreal Canadiens. It was thought to be a dirty hit, but the league didn't think so as Pacioretty got off scot free.
He said he wasn't mad at Pacioretty for the hit, calling it hockey.
Still, it cost him the second half of that game, and all of the 4-3 Rangers' loss to the Winnipeg Jets last night.
He should be all set to return to action tomorrow against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Michael Del Zotto practiced for the second consecutive day, and said after practice that he thought he'd be ready to play last night, but was a late scratch. All signs point that he'll be on the ice Thursday as well.
Brandon Mashinter was sent down, and since Aaron Asham wasn't at practice, it seems that Rick Nash will come off IR and play for the Rangers after missing four games.Tags: Aaron Asham, Brandon Mashinter, Hockey, Max Pacioretty, Montreal Canadiens, New York, New York Rangers, NHL, Rick Nash, Ryan McDonagh, Tampa Bay Lightning, Winnipeg Jets
